In Bitche: Golf de Bitche

The 80-hectare golf course in Bitche is one of the finest in eastern France. Set out like a parkland course, its 27 impressive holes offer a wonderful challenge. The course was laid out in 1988 on Vosges sandstone, making it weather-resistant and playable almost all year round. Situated just outside the town near the historic citadel, the course lies in the heart of the Northern Vosges Nature Park, a UNESCO biosphere reserve. This historic and idyllic region has plenty to offer, including on the culinary front.

In Gersheim-Rubenheim: Katharinenhof Golf Club

The Katharinenhof Golf Club is a family-friendly club in the Bliesgau, set within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve on the French border. The gently rolling landscape charms with its sprawling orchards, quiet forests, and species-rich dry meadows.

After your round, visit the club restaurant, which serves both international and regional dishes. From the generous clubhouse terrace, views stretch across the Bliesgau hills all the way to the Vosges.

Covering 35 hectares of gently undulating terrain, this par-71 course measures 5,600 metres (4,641 m from the ladies’ tees) and rewards precise play. Its compact layout calls for real accuracy and strategic thinking.

In Mackenbach: Barbarossa Golf Club Kaiserslautern

Roughly 20 kilometres north-west of Kaiserslautern, this expansive course covers around 85 hectares of gently rolling terrain with an elevation change of some 50 metres. The views across the foothills of the Palatinate Forest and the Sickinger Höhe are impressive. The 18-hole course (par 74) stretches over 6,050 metres (5,258 m from the ladies’ tees) and is bisected by a stream and a wetland habitat. The generous, contoured greens – averaging 800 m2 – sit partly among mature trees and are framed by bunkers, natural mounds, and water hazards.
