What are the check-in and check-out times at Kloster Hornbach?
Your room at Kloster Hornbach will be available from 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, we ask that you check out by 11 a.m.

Are there parking spaces at the hotel?
Yes. There are various parking options around Kloster Hornbach. Our large hotel parking is only about 100 metres from the monastery.

Are there charging stations for electric cars?
Yes. There are 12 charging points for electric vehicles available at Kloster Hornbach. Billing is handled by the provider Wirelane and currently costs 0.60 euros per kWh.

What are the cancellation deadlines?
You can cancel your booking at Kloster Hornbach free of charge up to 48 hours before arrival. After that, we charge 90% of the agreed room rate; in the event of a no-show, 100%.
Separate cancellation conditions apply to stays over public holidays. We will, of course, inform you of these when you make your booking.

Is there air conditioning in the rooms?
The Convent and Prälat room categories, as well as the Maisonette Suite, are equipped with air conditioning.

Is the hotel accessible? Are there accessible rooms?
Due to the historic architecture of our former Benedictine monastery, our premises are wheelchair-friendly but not fully accessible. Unfortunately, a few steps are unavoidable in some areas.
The most suitable rooms are those in the main building, which are easily accessible by lift. If you have any special requirements, please do let us know before your arrival. We’ll be happy to advise you on which room is best suited to your needs.

Which restaurants are available in the evening?
In the evening, you have two options at Kloster Hornbach:

  • At the Klosterschänke, you can enjoy simple, regional cuisine and choose from the à la carte menu to suit your mood.
  • In the Säulenzimmer, we serve a menu that changes daily, featuring market-fresh produce. You decide for yourself whether you’d like to enjoy three, four, or five courses.

Is there a spa or wellness area?
Yes. BadeLust is a small, charming retreat where you can relax. It features a sauna, a steam bath, a 5 × 5-metre relaxation pool, an experience shower, and cosy heated loungers. A place where you can wind down at the end of the day.

When should I book wellness treatments?
As early as possible. As we work with an external therapist and beautician for our treatments, we recommend that you enquire about your appointment 7 to 14 days before your stay. This gives you the best chance of securing your preferred date.

Are there walking trails starting directly from the hotel?
Yes, you can set off on a walk right from our front door. The Paradiesgartenweg trail, a premium walking trail around 11 kilometres long, starts right next to the monastery. There are also numerous other walking trails in the surrounding area, ranging from shorter strolls to longer hikes. Our reception team will be happy to show you the most beautiful routes and their respective starting points on the walking map. And if you’d like to take a break along the way, simply order a packed picnic rucksack from us.

Can you hire bikes at the hotel?
Yes. You can hire bikes from us for your excursions around Hornbach: e-bikes for 22.00 euros per day, and non-electric trekking bikes for 12.00 euros per day. This is a wonderful way to explore the surrounding area on two wheels.

Is there somewhere to store bikes securely?
Yes. Our lockable room is available for your bikes. So your bike will be just as safe as you are.

Is there a green fee discount?
Yes. At Golf de Bitche in neighbouring France, just about 30 minutes away, you can play a 9- or 18-hole round. As a guest at Kloster Hornbach, you’ll benefit from the partner green fee and a corresponding discount there.

Are dogs allowed in the hotel?
Yes, four-legged guests are very welcome at Kloster Hornbach. We charge 30.00 euros per night for your dog, excluding food. Upon arrival, you’ll find a cosy dog bed and bowls for water and food waiting in your room. Good to know: your dog is welcome to accompany you to the Klosterschänke. Dogs are not permitted in the rear areas of the restaurant.
